Jimmie "Toad" Sroufe, 69, of Fairmount, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Lutheran Hospital.
Jimmie was born on April 25, 1953 in Columbia City, Indiana to the late Carl and Donnabell (Loe) Sroufe. Jimmie was a truck driver for Red Gold. He was known as a "Mr. Fix-it", especially when it came to lawn mowers. He was one that always had to stay busy doing something. Jimmie loved Nascar, the Indiana Pacers, and Indianapolis Colts.
Jimmie is survived by his life long partner, Patricia Vetor; daughter, Amanda (Don) Fowler of Columbia City, IN,; bonus-daughter’s Debie (John) Salmons of Mentone, IN, Catana (Jeff) Bohlander; bonus daughter-in-law, Darlene Vetor; siblings, Gary (Mary Lou) Sroufe, Everette (Lucia) Sroufe, Larry (Arlene) Sroufe, Linda (Randy) Dafforn; Dog, Crickett; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in his passing by his parents, Carl and Donnabell (Loe) Sroufe; sister, Cindy O'Reilly; and bonus son, Cliff Vetor.
Services for Jimmie are entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where a visitation will be held on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 11-1 P.M.. A service will follow starting at 1P.M. with pastor Rick Bradley officiating. A cremation will take place and a burial will happen at a later date.
