Jerry L. Mclain

Jerry L. McLain, 80, passed away Sunday, October 15, 2023. He was born on November 8, 1942 to the late Guild R. and Sarah E. (Simpson) McLain. Jerry was a graduate of Swayzee High School class of 1961.

Jerry retired from GM in 2020 after over 55 years of service. He started at General Motors in 1962. He was a regular attendee of Swayzee Christian Church. Jerry loved to spend his free time watching any of the Indiana sports teams, as well as the news. He was a man that was quirky and had a great sense of humor. Jerry was a giving man, he donated a lot of time and funds to different organizations to help other succeed.

Jerry will be missed by his nieces, Stephanie (David) Mockobee, Marion, and Michelle (Baba Kalidi) Kassambala, Marion, Stacy Bell, Northern Indiana, Kim Kelch, Arizona; nephews, Steve (Shari) McLain, Mark McLain, California; great nieces and nephews, Gabriele Hernandez, Zachary Hernandez, Mackenzie Case, Sinhue Mockobee II, Kylie McLain, Marissa McLain, Joshua Disney, Ryan Disney, and Jessica McLain; great-great nieces and nephews Jazlyn Cole, Klover McLain, Izzabella McLain, and Abraham McLain; special friends Marva, Todd, and Misty; special pet, Roscoe.

He is preceded in his passing by his parents, Guild R. and Sarah E. (Simpson) McLain; brothers, Richard "Dick" McLain, Billy Joe McLain, Paul (Mickey) McLain; nephew Kenneth Bell.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 11:00am-1:00pm. A service will immediately follow the visitation with Pastor Taylor Frank officiating at 1:00pm. A burial will take place following the service at Thrailkill Cemetery in Swayzee, Indiana 46986.
