Jerrick Oliver Stotts

On Monday, May 16, 2022, Jerrick Oliver Stotts flew with the angels and passed peacefully surrounded by his loved ones. Jerrick was born on February 8, 2013, to Joshua Stotts and Samantha (Simmons) Sullivan. He lit up every room he entered from the moment he came into this world. His eyes twinkled and his smile brightened the saddest of any person's day. The breadth of the lives he has touched is immeasurable. While Jerrick did not speak words with his mouth, his soul spoke volumes. Jerrick is survived by his parents, Samantha and Kyle Sullivan, and Josh and Emilee Stotts; brothers, Joshua, Bradley, and Steven Stotts, and Patrick Sullivan; sisters, Hallie, GraceLynn, and Karrynn Sullivan; grandparents, John and Deborah Simmons, Doni "Dee" May, Mike and Andrea Conn, and Chris and Lori Sullivan; aunts and uncles, Gabe and Kayla Conn, John and Crystal Simmons, and Derek and Kara McPhearson; cousins, Kingston Simmons, Ashton Conwell, Korbyn Bullock, Jaxton and Jacoby McPhearson, and Cody Sullivan; and many other symbolic aunts, uncles, and other family members who have poured love into Jerrick. Jerrick was preceded in death by his best friend and brother, Jacob Stotts; great-grandparents, John and Jane Simmons, Wayne and Iralda Meneely, John Conn, Carolyn Mendenhall, and Donnie and Kay May. In life, Jerrick had MECP2 Duplication Syndrome, a rare genetic disorder which limited the years his family was able to hold him on this side of Heaven. Jerrick touched many lives in his short 9 years. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, where a visitation will be held from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 20, 2022. The funeral service will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, 2022, at the funeral home, with Jeff Fuller officiating, and an hour of visitation prior to the service. The family would like to thank Peyton Manning Children's Hospital, Eastbrook Community Schools, Help the Hopeful, Hopebridge of Marion, and Stillwater Hospice Care for the love each of these organizations poured into Jerrick's life.
