Jeanne E. Cain

Jeanne E. Cain, 98, passed away on Tuesday, December 12, 2023. Jeanne was born on March 28, 1925, to the late Waldo and Hazel Lockwood. She graduated from Macy High School in 1943, and then worked for REMC Electric Company. On December 27, 1947, she married Ralph Cain and he preceded her in death in January of 2007. After she and Ralph married, she was a farmer's wife, homemaker, and worked at Marion General Hospital as a nurse's aide. She was a member of Faith Harvest Church, formerly known as Mount Olive United Methodist Church, for 76 years. Jeanne enjoyed working outside on her gardens and mowing.

Jeanne is survived by her two daughters, Cinda Cain, Marion, and Joleen (Aaron) Anson, Andrews; son, David (Deborah) Cain, Marion; eight grandchildren, John (Jody), Molly, Evan, Dolly (Derek), Lauren (Jacob), Mitchell (Sara), Ethan, and Spencer; 11 great-grandchildren, Blake, Owen, Hudson, Jackson, Morgan, Wyatt, Preston, Maddie, Garyn, Landon, Ivy; and five step-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Waldo and Hazel; husband, Ralph; brother, Robert Lockwood; sister, Helen "Ruth" (Carl) Sommer; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Ames-Cain; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Lockwood.

Arrangements for Jeanne have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2023, at Faith Harvest Church, 2015 County Road 300 W, Marion, Indiana 46952, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mitch Norwood officiating. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
