Jean Rae Hoskins

Upland: Jean Rae Hoskins, 90, died Tuesday night, June 21, 2016, in Marion General Hospital. She was born in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of the late Merle L. and Ruth (Pugh) Raymond. She graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and went on to earn her Masters in Education from Ball State University. Mrs. Hoskins, who had lived in Grant County for most of her life, attended Upland United Methodist Church and was a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Marion. Jean Rae married Gene Hoskins on October 8, 1948. He preceded her in death on February 2, 1989. She was formerly employed with Prudential Life Insurance Company as an Office Manager. She taught first grade for 22 years at Eastbrook Community School Corporation, retiring in 1991.She is survived by her daughter, Suzette Hoskins, Upland. At her request, there will be no visitation or funeral service.
