Jean Decamp

Jean DeCamp, 86, passed away at University Nursing Center on October 17, 2023. She was born to the late Jesse and Beatrice (Stinson) Rogers on April 12, 1937. Jean married John DeCamp and together they had 6 children.

Jean has always been a caregiver at heart. She loved being able to help other people. Jean worked as a nursing aid at University Nursing Center for over 20 years. Along with her servant's heart, Jean enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She also enjoyed sewing, crafts, cooking, and her favorite show The Golden Girls.

Jean will be missed by her children, Kevin (Angelica) DeCamp, Hartford City, IN, John DeCamp, Upland, IN, Michelle (Gary) Day, Ocean Shore, WA, Elsie Kinzie, Marion, IN, Arlene (James) DeLuca Warren, IN; siblings, Robert Gray, Charlene Rhoten, Francis Lightle, Marie Shore, Marge Cunningham, Jackie Holloway, Jack Rogers, Jerry Rogers, Rick Rogers, Sandy Halsell; 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; special friend, Eleanor Barrick.

Jean is preceded in her passing by her parents, Jesse and Beatrice (Stinson) Rogers; husband, John DeCamp; daughter, Jean Ann DeCamp; great-grandchild, Allie Jo DeCamp; son-in-law, David Kinzie.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, IN 46989. A visitation for Jean will be held on Monday, October 23, 2023 at the Jones-Smith Chapel from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.. A service will immediately follow at 1:00 p.m.. A burial will take place after the service at Gardens of Memory in Marion, Indiana.

Memorial contributions in remembrance of Jean can be made out to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home to help the family defray the funeral costs.
