James William Robert "Bill" Lee

James William “Bill” Robert Lee, 88, passed away on August 14, 2023 at Marion Health in Marion, Indiana. He was born on November 8, 1934 in Rush County, Indiana, to the late Ernest H. and Zella Jane (Jackson) Lee, he was one of ten children.

Bill worked as a Hilift Driver for General Motors in Marion, Indiana where he retired after 31 years of service. His passion was in his construction business, Lee Construction. He worked on building houses, garages, or any small project. Bill loved to work and he had a one of a kind work ethic.

Bill attended The River Community Church where he enjoyed the music. He would sing all the time, especially gospel music.

Bill is survived by his children, Pam (Brian) Burbank of Gas City, Indiana, Brent (Peggy) Lee of Fairmount, Indiana, Shiela (Bruce) Spence of Clermont, Florida, Rodney (Kim) Lee of Noblesville, Indiana, Bre (Don) Carter of Marion, Indiana, Connie (Greg) Shanks of Norton, Virginia, and Bobby (Debbie) Lee of Kokomo, Indiana; 14 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren; siblings, Betty (Hobart) Griffith of Portsmith, OH, Lois (Dwight) Johnson of Greenup, KY, and Kathy Lee of Fleminsburg, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in his passing by his parents; wife, Shirley (Wilkerson) Lee; siblings, Mary Simmons, Mabel Hall, Wilma Bryant, Wayne Lee, Bonnie & Donnie Lee.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, IN 46928. A visitation will be held at the Fairmount Chapel on Friday, August 18, 2023 from 1:00-3:00P.M.. A service will immediately follow the visitation with Pastor Matthew Trexler officiating. A burial will be held at Park Cemetery in Fairmount, Indiana.
