James R. Dunn Jr.

James R. Dunn, Jr., 57, passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2019, in Marion. James was born on August 19, 1961, in Enid, Oklahoma, to the late James R. Dunn, Sr, and Marlene (Walters) Long. He was a proud Army Veteran. James served in the Army from 1980-1986, he was a Marksman, M-16 Rifle expert, and he received the Army service ribbon as well as the overseas service ribbon from serving in Germany. James worked as a cook at King Gyros in Marion, and then worked at CFS in Urbana, unloading hazardous materials. He attended Wesleyan Methodist Church. James had a passion for collecting baseball cards and fishing. James is survived by his mother, Marlene (Walters) Long, Marion; his children, Kenneth (Amanda) Spencer, Wabash, and Amanda Meeks-Johnson, Rockville; his brother, Terry Dunn, Marion; his aunt, Carolyn Hunt, Marion; and his grandchildren, Liam Spencer, Payslee Spencer, Emree Jackson and Luna Ford. He was preceded in death by his father, James R. Dunn Sr., and his grandparents Howard and Lola Walters. Arrangements for James have been entrusted to College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953, where on Thursday, August 15, 2019, there will be a visitation from 12:00 P.M. 1:00 P.M., with a memorial service beginning at 1:00 P.M. to celebrate James life. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of James to the funeral home to help the family defray the funeral expenses.
