James L. Hewitt

James L. Hewitt, 51, passed away on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, at Stillwater Hospice in Fort Wayne. Jim was born on October 30, 1971, to the late Jerry Lee Hewitt, and Beverly Hipes, who survives in Fairmount. He worked as a freelance mechanic. He loved racing cars, motorcycles, fishing, hunting, and cutting wood - in short, he loved to be outdoors. Jim will best be remembered as being "Hell on wheels".

Jim is survived by his mother, Beverly (Gary) Hipes; daughters, Beccy (Joe) and Krista Hewitt, both of Fairmount; grandchildren, Kaelyn and Kyra Fuller, Alaric Moneyhun, and Ephram Jackson; sister, Tonya (Tom) Hewitt, Fairmount; nephew, Connor Gosnell, Fairmount; special brother, Jimmy Caudill, Tennessee; and numerous cousins.

He was preceded in deathy by his father, Jerry; grandchildren, Finn and Phoenix Moneyhun; and grandparents, Charles and Betty Hewitt and Otis Watson and Lerabelle Ruggles.

Arrangements for Jim have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, where a visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m.
