Jack Norman Howell

Jack Norman Howell, 88, formerly of Fairmount, IN died Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at Marion General Hospital. Jack was born on January 2, 1928 in Marion, IN, son ofthe late Wayne Whitson Howell and the late Georgia May Jones Howell. Jack graduated from Gas City High School and served in the Army as a mortar specialist during the Korean Conflict during 1952 and 1953. He married Martha LouMitcheneron June 3, 1950. Martha preceded him in death on July 23, 2010. Jack was a maintenance electrician at RCA for 37 years. He was a member of Back Creek Friends and a former member of the Gas City VFW.He enjoyed bowling and participated in leagues through RCA.Jack also enjoyed golfing, fishing, dogs and being with his grandkids. Jack is survived by; daughter Linda (Carl) Haynes, of Fairmount IN; son Michael (Diane) Howell;Vincennes, IN Grandchildren: Christopher and Matthew Howell, Lindsey (Derek) Ponton,TifaniOlson,and Megan(John) Lane,Susan (Daniel) Cole and Kendra LouBricker. Great Grandchildren: Logan andMadelyneOlson,LilyanaGrundon, Clementine and Morris Lane, and Lucy Ponton.Great-great-grandson, Sam Olson,and Brother-in-law JimMitchener, Fairmount. Jack was preceded in death by brothers; Ted William, Terry, and Philip Howell, and a sister Carol Williams.
