Iva Dianne (Lowe) Stevens, 74, passed away on March 15, 2024 at Scared Journey Hospice Home, Newnan, GA. After a long battle with Alzheimer's. Iva was born May 10, 1949 in Sevierville, TN to the late Alfred and Katherine (Pryor) Lowe. Iva married Michael (Mike) G. Stevens on January 9, 1970 in Atlanta GA. Michael died shortly after on July 6, 2024.
Iva attended Mississinewa High School class of 1967, where she quit school her junior year to go to work at the Crystal Laundry, Jonesboro and Carrie's Restaurant, Marion, to help out financially at home because her father was diagnosed with MS. She attended Southside Wesleyan Church, Gas City, IN and Tyus Road Baptist Church, Bowdon, GA
She was a homemaker. Many years she took care of her youngest daughter who was diagnosed with Crohn's when she was 12. She enjoyed sewing, especially making clothes for her girls when they were younger. She loved to garden and plant flowers. She was an amazing artist especially painting, and loved her animals.
She survived by Husband Mike Stevens, Bowdon, GA; Daughter and son-in-law Sarah Marceene (Marci), (Gregg) Todd; Granddaughter: Maria Sabriana (Bri), (Marcelo) Sousa; Grandson: Stephen (Hannah) Todd; great-granddaughter, Luna Sparrow Todd, great-grandson; Allistair Callum Todd; all of McDonough, GA. Sister Debbie Logan, Virginia Beach, VA: Sister in laws; Eydie Lou (Martin) Day, Gas City, IN, Jewelene Mann, Jonesboro, IN, Cynthia Stevens, Stockton, CA; several nieces and nephews. Extended family: Lita (Craig) Freeman, Swayzee, IN and Carrie (Jim) Moon, Marion, IN. John (Mindy) Allen, Fort Meyers, FL.
Iva was preceded in death by her parents; Alfred and Katherine Lowe; In-Laws; Lawrence (Steve) (Frances) Stevens; Mother-in-Law; Lana Lou (Everhart) Pulaski, Daughter; Mieshell Renee Stevens: Sister; Marjorie E Fugate, Brother; Clifford Lowe, Niece; Lois Ann Fugate-Coty, Extended Family: Selita Mae Lowe, Rebecca Simms and Micheale (Sheila) Foor.
Iva made arrangement with the University of Emory Medical School Atlanta, GA, 38 years ago, to donate her body to science. Local Arrangements were entrusted to the Mississinewa Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral and Cremation Services, 200 N. 7th Street, Gas City, Indiana.
