Henry J. Wayne

Henry J. Wayne passed away August 30, 2019. He was born October 20, 1918, in Clay County, West Virginia. Henry was a proud Navy veteran of WW-II. He retired from the VA Hospital, in Marion, after thirty years as a cook and assistant dietitian. He was a strongsupporter of American Legion Post #313 in Fairmount, of which he was a member for 75 years. He was the last known surviving charter member of this post. Henry was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, who died in 2005, after over 63 years of marriage. He is survived by his son, Stephen (Linda) Wayne of Greer, SC; granddaughter, Heather (Kenny Snider) Wayne of Summerville, SC; grandson, Scott (Cathy) Wayne of Lexington, SC; and great-grandson, Brandon Wayne, a student at Clemson University, SC. Funeral services will be held at Armes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, on Friday, September 6, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be Thursday, September 5, 2019, from 5-7:00 p.m., with the American Legion walk through at 6:45 p.m. Contributions made in memory of Henry made be made to American Legion Post #313.
