Helen L. Miller, 96, formerly of Fairmount, Indiana died Friday, September 9, 2016 at Wesleyan Health Care were she had been a resident for 3 years. Helen was born in Gas City, Indiana on April 21, 1920, daughter of Newton Miller and Myrtle (McCann) Miller. She graduated from Gas City High School in 1938. Helen worked at the Dining Commons at Taylor University for 15 years managing the Grill. She had also worked at Owens Illinois, St. Regis Paper, Slick Glass and Knox Glass. Helen was a member of the Art Club of Marion and had won many awards for her paintings. She also enjoyed flowers and reading. Helen is survived by two children: Richard (Judy) Hensley, Ft. Wayne, IN and Dee (David) Huston, Fairmount, IN. Sister, Patricia PatPeery and brother, Bill (Jane) Miller both of Gas City, IN. Grandchildren; Reid (Jill) Hensley, Alexandria, Julie (Brian) Stevens,Summitville, Ryan (Carrie) Hensley, Fort Wayne, IN, Mark (Priscilla) Huston, Fairmount, IN, Melissa (Don )WegenerNoblesville, IN and Chris Huston, Fairmount, IN;12 Great Grandchildren,2 Step Great Grandchildren, and 5 Great Great Grandchildren. Helen was preceded in death by her parents Newton Myrtle Miller, Great-Grandson Johnny Huston, Sister Kathryn Bagley,brother Eugene Gene Miller, and brother-in-law Ron Peery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A memorial service honoring Helens life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the Fairmount Chapel, with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Play Acres Park Tree Program or Helping Hands in care of the funeral home.
