Helen Hadley-Leas

Helen Louise Hadley-Leas (Vanlandingham), age 101, passed away peacefully on October 2, 2024. Helen was born on March 3, 1923, to the late Mae Vanlandingham in Wyoming, Kentucky. A proud graduate of Marion High School's Class of 1940, Helen lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service to her community and family.

Helen married her first husband, Marion Hadley and together they planted their roots in Marion, Indiana. They were blessed with two children, Judy and Robert, who were the joys of their lives. Marion and Helen shared 39 beautiful years of marriage until his passing.

Helen later found love again with William "Bill" Leas, and they shared 19 years together before his passing.

Helen worked at Indiana Bell for 28 years. She was an active member of College Wesleyan Church for several years and was also involved in the Department Club and Pioneers Club. Her commitment to her faith and community was unwavering.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Judy (Bob) Jarvis of Alexandria; step-children, Beattiann (Larry) Little and Larry (Candy) Leas; grandchildren, Jeffery (Jennifer) Jarvis, and Shelly Jarvis; great-grandchildren, Josh (Lacey) Jarvis, Morgan (Josh) Reed, Madison Jarvis, and Jacob Jarvis; and many great-great grandchildren.

She is preceded in her passing by her mother, Mae Vanlandingham; husbands, Marion Hadley and William "Bill" Leas; son, Robert "Judd" Hadley; grandson, Jay Jarvis; aunt, Nanny Atchinson.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services. A visitation will be held on Monday, October 7, 2024 from 11-1 at 4601 S. Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. A service will begin after the visitation. Immediately following the service a graveside service will be held at Grant Memorial Park in Marion, Indiana.
