Hanson K. Leach

Hanson K. Leach, 87, died Saturday, October 5, 2019, at his Gas City residence. Hanson was born in Fairmount, Indiana, on November 30, 1931, son of the late George L. and Margaret (Keever) Leach. He graduated from Fairmount High School in 1949 and served his country from 1952-1956 in the US Navy. He married Barbara Trout on November 21, 1953. She preceded him in death on November 28, 2008. Hanson was a livestock and grain farmer for many years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the Pt. Isabel Methodist Church and the American Legion Post 313. He enjoyed woodworking. Hanson is survived by his daughter, Betsy (Steve) Riggs, Fairmount; four grandsons, Nathaniel and Shane Leach and Adam (Vera) Riggs and Alex Riggs; along with seven great-grandchildren. Hanson was preceded in death by his parents, wife, son, Kenny Leach and his brother, Max Leach. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. A private graveside service will be held at Jefferson Cemetery, Upland, Indiana, with military honors. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Pt.
