George H. Walker, Jr.

George H. Walker, Jr., 75, of Converse, Indiana, died at 8:25 p.m., Monday, August 29, 2022, at Marion Health. He entered this world on April 21, 1947, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, born to the late George Harrison and Lillian (Hungerford) Walker. George married Elizabeth Walters on October 11, 1996, she survives.

He worked in tool and die for General Motors for 28 years until his retirement in 2008. George also worked for a short time with General Cable. He was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis, Indiana. George was an avid football and NASCAR fan. He really enjoyed going to the beach and loved to be with his family.

George is survived by his three children, Denise (Edwin) Walker Cotto, of Brandon, Florida, Claire (Paul Stancombe) Walker, of Bedford, Indiana, and George "Harry" Walker III, of West Lafayette, Indiana; one grandchild, Nicole Santoro, of Hamilton, New Jersey; a sister, Gail Walker, Denville, NJ; a brother, Roy "Skippy" (Madeline "Lynn") Walker, of Union, New Jersey; sister-in-law, Lesa Nelson, of Converse; three nieces, Alexandra Walker, Amy Seidof, and Alex (Justin) Harris; two nephews, Fritz Seidof and Grant Nelson; and six great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service for George will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion.
