Gary R. Bright, 62, met his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 7, 2020 at his Fairmount residence after a long and hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. Gary was born in Marion, Indiana on December 4, 1958, son of the late Rex Eugene and Beverly E. (Brown) Bright. A 1977 graduate of Madison-Grant High School, he attended Taylor University and Marion College for several years before graduating from Ball Memorial Hospital School of Radiology Technologist. Gary was a CT and MRI Technician at St. Vincent Hospital in Anderson for many years before retiring from Community Hospital where he worked as a Radiology Information System Analyst. He married Tina M. Walston on October 9, 1993. Gary loved the Lord and was a man of God. He had been a member of Brookhaven Wesleyan Church since 1979. Gary loved his 1970 Monte Carlo and Purdue Basketball. Gary was the official volunteer photographer for ALS, attending their fundraiser walks, car shows, and golf outings. Gary is survived by his wife of 27 years, Tina; son Cameron Bright, Gaston; siblings; Sherry (Ron) Grogg, Marion, Tammy Richards, Fairmount, Sam Bright, Lafayette, family friend, Jeff Gunn, Fairmount, sister-in-law, Rhonda (Dennis) Shelton, Dillsboro; nieces and nephews, Ashley Grogg, NY, NY, Dustin (Kaitlyn) Grogg, Ft. Wayne, Drew (Angela) Richards and Brooke (Matt) Wine, both of Indianapolis, Brandon (Theresa) Shelton and Lindsay Shelton both of Dillsboro, and six great nieces and nephews. Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a nephew, Chase Richards. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be Friday, December 11, 2020 from 4-8 PM and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Funeral service celebrating Gary's life will be at Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, 2960 E 38th St, Marion, IN 46953 on Saturday, December 12, 202 at 11 AM with Pastors Robert VanCise and Tony Bye officiating. Burial will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount. Memorial contributions may be made to Pancreatic Cancer Action Network ,1500 Rosecrans Avenue, Suite 200, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266 or Brookhaven Wesleyan Church.
