Frances L. Pulley

Upland: Frances L. (Eib) Pulley, 92, passed away early Tuesday, September 27, 2016 at Marion General Hospital. She was born in Marion, the daughter of the late Orville and Bertha (Moore) Eib. Her parents died when she was young and she lived with her Uncle and Aunt, Dewey and Flossie Eib. She graduated from Sweetser High School in 1942 and attended Indiana Business College, Marion, for two years. She worked in the office of Broyles Electric Co. before going to work in the defense plant at Anaconda during the war. She later attended Amber Beauty School in Muncie, and with a friend, had a Beauty Shop in Lafontaine. After closing their shop, she went to work at General Tire in Wabash, in the payroll department. Frances married Lawrence Pulley on May 14, 1949, at Jalapa United Methodist Church, Marion. They farmed for several years, and she started to work in the Eastbrook High School cafeteria, where she worked for 30 years, before retiring in 2006. Mrs. Pulley was a member of Center Chapel United Methodist Church, Marion, where she had taught the children's Sunday school class and served as the church treasurer for several years. Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Lawrence, Upland; a son, Dan Pulley, Gas City; a daughter Lou Ann (Jerry) Bosworth; a son-in-law, David Smith, Upland; three grandchildren, Amy (Jay) Ross, Josh Bosworth, and Aaron (Brandi) Smith; five great grandchildren, Kennedy, Trevor, Bradyn, Josie, and Jagger; and a sister-in-law, Betty Eib, Indianapolis. She loved her family and never failed to tell them. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Smith, on November 14, 2015; brothers, Donald (Barbara) Eib, Eugene Eib, Jack (Dorla) Eib and Ed Eib; a sister, Audrey Eib; and Uncle and Aunt, Dewey and Flossie Eib.
