Pete & Lou Williams

1939 — 2025

Kenneth L. "Pete" Williams, 85, and his beloved wife of 63 years, E. Louise "Lou" Williams, 85, passed away just nine days apart from unrelated illnesses. Pete passed on Monday, January 6, 2025, and Lou followed on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. A final blessing, they never had to experience what it felt like to lose their life-long partner. Together, they are now walking hand in hand in heaven, reunited in eternal peace.

Pete was born on October 19, 1939, and grew up in Gas City, Indiana. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy, enlisting as soon as he was able and dedicating four years to his country. After his service, Pete worked at Owens-Illinois, now PCA, as a manufacturer. He was a man who cherished the simple pleasures of life - enjoying fishing, camping, and riding motorcycles. Anyone who visited the Williams home could almost certainly find Pete watching a classic Western, lost in the stories of the Old West.

Lou was born on November 1, 1939, and graduated from Jefferson High School. She later worked as a teacher's aide for Eastbrook Community Schools, where she touched many lives with her kindness and dedication. Lou was passionate about gardening, taking great joy in cultivating the beauty of nature. She was deeply involved in her church and cherished the relationships she had with her church and neighborhood families. A self-proclaimed professional shopper, Lou had a knack for finding the best deals, always with an eye for quality and value.

Together, Pete and Lou were faithful members of the Jefferson Christian Church Porch Ministry. They enjoyed the simple joys of life, from birdwatching to spending quality time with their grandchildren. Their shared love for family and community was evident in all that they did.

They are survived by their daughters, Karey Williams, Dalton, Georgia, and Cindy (Steve) Jones, Warren; grandchildren, Mandi (Aric) Poe, Blake (Skylar) Zoda, and Brooke Zoda; step-grandchildren, Steven (Christen) Jones, and Kayleigh Jones; great-grandchildren, Conner, Colton, and Kyra Poe, and Uriah Jones; son-in-law, Mike Loveless, Eufala, Oklahoma; special friend, Darline Richards, Dalton, Georgia; Pete's brother, Harold (Imy) Williams, Marion; cousin, Carol (Don) Eaton; nieces, Sherol (Dennis) Cochran, Tracey (Andy) Kleber, Teri Lowery, and Penny Gibbs; and many extended treasured family members.

They were preceded in death by Pete's parents, Raymond and Helen Williams; Lou's parents, Albert and Bonnie Moody; their daughter, Kristy Loveless; son, Randy Williams; Lou's siblings, Yvonne Sowards, Donna Abdullah, Patricia Thompson, Delbert Moody, and two infants; niece, Sheri Dennis; and nephew Jon Pfeiffer.

Arrangements for Pete and Lou were entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989. A memorial service to honor their lives will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Jefferson Christian Church Porch Ministry, 5220 South 800 East, Upland, Indiana 46989, a cause close to Pete and Lou's hearts.

Pete and Lou leave behind a legacy of love, devotion, and a life well-lived. Together in life, together in death, they will forever be remembered for their unwavering love for each other, their family, and their community.
