Emma June Mitchener, 87 formerly of Fairmount, died Friday September 1, 2017 at York Place in Marion, Indiana. June was born in Grant County, Indiana on June 1, 1930 to the late Russell and Alma (Pattison) Underwood. She graduated from Fairmount High School class of 1948. She married Charles F. Mitchener August 13, 1952 and he preceded her in death March 15, 2013. Many years ago June worked for Occidental Chemical Company in Fairmount, Indiana however she spent the most of her years a homemaker. She helped her daughter in the Flowers by Diane floral shop. June was a very supportive mother and grandmother, attending allher childrens and grandchildrens sporting events. She was former member of the Home Extension Club, was a member of Grant United Methodist Church, Fairmount, IN where she was a member of the Praying Grandmothers. June and Charles enjoyed traveling together to places in the states and Europe. The family would like to especially thank her caregivers at York Place for the care and comfort that they gave to their mother. June is survived by daughters; Teresa (Ron) Cates, Marion, Indiana and Diane (Steve) Richey, Swayzee, Indiana sons; Marc (Cinda) Mitchener, Fairmount, Indiana and Paul (Janice) Mitchener, Noblesville, Indiana. Brother; Jerry (Gloria) Underwood, Fairmount, IN Sisters-in-law; Doris Underwood, Betty Powers, and Geraldine (Herb) Howard. Brothers-in-law; Robert White and Jack and Virginia Mitchener. Grandchildren; Amanda (Ben) Olynger, Alyssa (Blake) Rigdon, Nicole (Luke) Domitrovich, Megan (Rodney Black) Mitchener, Justin and Tyler Mitchener, Jason (Lori) Cates, Brian (Angela) Cates, Rollin (Emily) Richey, Regan (Heather) Richey, Royce (Leann) Richey, Rachel (Mitch) Bright. Great Grandchildren: Lucas, Grant, Collin, Elayna and Rebecca Cates. Abigail and Calvin Bright. Myiah Black, Hailey, Bentley and Tenley Richey, Pearce and Penelope Rigdon. Funeral Services for June will be Wednesday September 6, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Fairmount Chapel, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana 46928 with Pastor Constance Cherry officiating. Interment will be in the Matthews Cemetery, Matthews, Indiana The family will receive friends from 3-7 PM Tuesday and again 1 hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
