Elinor Irene Reeves

Elinor Irene Reeves, 90, formerly of Fairmount, Indiana, died Monday, November 27, 2017, at Community Hospital in Anderson. Irene had been a resident of Alexandria Care Center for the past several years. Elinor was born in Fairmount, Indiana on January 21, 1927, daughter of the late Ernest andTrevaSealeGaddis. She graduated from Fairmount High School in 1945 and attended Marion Business College. She married Donald E. Reeves on October 6, 1946. He preceded her in death on November 24, 1987. Irene had attended the Fairmount Friends church while residing in Fairmount and the First Methodist Church while residing in Alexandria. She was a member of the Fun Club, loved Animals, antiques, reading and dining out with family and friends. Irene and Donald raised 3 children; Ross Reeves, Alexandria, Cole (Jo) Reeves, Fairmount, and Terri (Gary) Thomas, Alexandria. Also surviving are a brother, Charles (Virginia)Gaddisof Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren; Melissa (Scott) Carpenter, Yorktown, Angie (Scott) Shugart, Fairmount, Clint (Amanda) Thomas, New Palestine, Ginger (Cody) Thompson, Muncie, Jordon Reeves, Lapel, Conner Reeves, Yorktown; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers, Johnny, Harrold, and NealGaddis, and sisters Louise Newman and Lucille Materjek. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2017, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Marion-Grant County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
