Eileene Bridgeman

May 9, 1942 — June 22, 2024

Eileene (Crose) Bridgeman, 82, of Gas City, passed away at 4:16 p.m. on Saturday, June 22, 2024, in her home surrounded by her family. She was born in Wharton, West Virginia, on May 9, 1942, to Homer and Agnes Crose.

Eileene attended Muncie Central High School and enjoyed playing volleyball for the Wildcats. She married Ronald Bridgeman on October 31, 1959, in her parents’ home, in a simple ceremony that included visits from trick or treaters! She was a precious and meticulous caregiver for her husband, especially during the last few years of his life. She was a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church.

Eileene worked as a seamstress at Robert Hall’s (a clothing store in Ft. Wayne) for several years and was able to channel her attention to detail into beautiful things. She was an extremely gifted seamstress, creating whole suits, many other pieces of clothing, guitar straps, curtains, pillows, and more. She reupholstered furniture and enjoyed interior decorating and brought beauty to everything she touched!

She enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling with them, and absolutely loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they adored her! She was affectionately known as “GG” (great grandma) to her family and to many others.

She loved learning about end times, whether it was reading about them or watching shows on television. She also loved her jeans, so in her honor, her family will be wearing jeans to her memorial service.

Survivors include her children, Ronda (Mark) Atkinson, Marion, and Ginger (Steve) Hill, Americus, GA. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren on the way. She is also survived by sisters Sherry (Charlie) Adams (Eaton); Nadine Roberts (Muncie); and brother Rick Crose (Murfreesboro, TN).

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie, her parents, Homer and Agnes Crose, and her brothers Raymond Crose and Eugene Crose.

Viewing will be on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Eastview Wesleyan Church, 414 N. 10th Street, Gas City, IN. A funeral service to celebrate Eileene’s life will begin at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Eastview Wesleyan Church, with Rev. Steve Hill and Rev. Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will be at Gardens of Memory in Muncie.

The family would like to especially thank Heartland Hospice for the excellent care they provided to Eileene.
