Edward Dale Titus

Fairmount Edward Dale Titus passed quietly in his home on March 30, 2019. Born November 16,1934in Fairmount, IN he was youngest of 7 children born to Bryan and Marie Titus. He grew up and lived most of his life in Fairmount, graduating from Fairmount High School in 1953. Following graduation, he served in the U.S. Marine Corp for two years at the end of the Korean War. Upon his return home, he married the love of his life, Sharon (Kay)Burcham. They were blessed with five healthy children. Dale worked at Fairmount Wire, Anaconda, and BF Goodyear. He, Kay, and their children moved to New Mexico, where he worked as a manager of Big O Tire inTucumcariNew Mexico in 1969. In 1971 Dale moved his family back to his beloved hometown of Fairmount, where he enjoyed gardening as well as working as a manager at theCitgostation in Marion. He became a member of the Fairmount Lions club and served as secretary and treasurer for many years. Dale had a great sense of humor and loved to telling jokes. His family might even say he was ornery. He enjoyed being outdoors and tinkering around the farm. He was notorious for his sweet tooth and his generosity. He loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Dale is preceded in death by his wife Sharon (Kay)Burcham)Titus. His sisters MarthaSpiecher, Alice Lorene Fox. Brothers John and Jeff Titus and his beloved grandson Titus Justus. He is survived by his five children: Cindy TitusMakinson, Ed Titus, Donna Titus Kolb, Dan Titus and Jana Titus McGuire. His two sisters Helen Booth and NoraKellams. He has 12 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, whom he deeply cherished. There will be a visitation on Wednesday, April3rdfrom 5-8 PM. Funeral service on Thursday, April4that 11 AMat the Fairmount Chapel ofArmesHunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indianawith MickSimpkinsofficiating. Burial will be at Knox Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to the Titus Justus Memorial Fund care of the Grant County Community Foundation in care of the funeral home.
