Dr. Thomas A Beck

Dr. Thomas Tom A. Beck, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Marion, Indiana. He was born to the late Alfred and Ethel (Westendorf) Beck in Marion, Indiana, on April 29, 1931. Growing up, Tom attended St. Paul schools, he then attended St. Joseph College and I.U. School of Medicine to become a medical doctor. He completed his internship at St. Vincent Hospital. Tom was a member of the Omicron Alpha Zeta Chapter of I.U. in 1954. Tom had a family practice inSwayzee, Indiana for many years. He worked at Marion General Hospital in the emergency room for twenty years, theAmbucareClinic and Indiana Health, all in Marion, Indiana. He finished his 50-year career by retiring in 1990. Tom married his loving wife, Rosetta (Moorman) Beck of 40 years, on July 2, 1979, in Marion, Indiana. Tom was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church. Tom enjoyed working, spending time with his family and being an avid I.U. Fan. Tom is survived by his wife, Rosetta, Marion; his children, Thomas A. Beck, Columbus; David D. Beck, Beech Grove; Joseph A.(Laura) Beck,Sweetser; Loretta J. (Rick)Neufelder,Fortville; Mark D. (Kathy) Beck, Kerrville, TX; Jennifer (Darren) Cunningham, Muncie; Anne Ricks, Marion; his step-children, SusanGrindle, Marion; Ret. Col. William H. (Cindy) Johnson,Brownsburg; his sister, Marilyn Miles, Indianapolis; 17 grandchildren and 8 Great Grandchildren and many loving in-laws on his wifes side of the family. Arrangements for Tom have been entrusted to College Park Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 11:00 A.M. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1031 W.KemRoad, Marion, Indiana 46952, with Father ChristopherRobertsofficiating. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at Grant Memorial Park, Marion, Indiana 46953.
