Dorothy Schultz

February 5, 1935 — January 3, 2025

Dorothy Anne Schultz went home to heaven to be with the Lord on Friday morning, January 3, 2025 at 1:08 a.m. She lived a life of serving her Savior Jesus Christ, teaching children whom she loved dearly, and caring for family members and loved ones. God faithfully loved and provided for Dorothy all the days of her life. If the reunion in Heaven was anything like the Holsinger family gatherings here on earth, it was LOUD AND JOYOUS! Born February 5, 1935...the youngest of 5 siblings. 1958 - graduated from BIOLA with a B.A. in Elementary Education. 1958-59 - joined Wycliffe Bible Translators and went through SIL Jungle Camp. 1960-80 - Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea served as elementary teacher of Wycliffe missionary children. She loved her students. 1980 - returned to California to care for her mother, Elsie, after her father passed away. 1985 - married Dick Schultz. Looking at pictures, the 12 years that Dick and Dorothy had together were the happiest years of Dorothy's life. Dick and Dorothy served as area representatives for Wycliffe, encouraging young Christians to serve in Bible translation. 1997 - dear Dick went home to heaven. Dorothy continued to serve with Wycliffe and took care of her brother, David Holsinger, until he went home to heaven in 2000. 2004 - Dorothy moved to Upland, Indiana to be close to brother Chuck Holsinger and his wife, Betty. Her health problems had already begun. Upland Community Church embraced Dorothy-they sacrificially loved and cared for her. 2018 - Dorothy moved up to Heritage Pointe of Warren at the invitation of Dave and Jackie Williams. She loved making new friends in Ceramics class. The entire staff - nurses, housekeeping, diningroom, maintenance staff - loved and cared for Dorothy and went extra miles for her. We love Aunt Dorothy and are thankful for her life and legacy. She is whole now - her body healed and mind renewed. She is reunited with her mother and father, siblings, and Dick.

Dorothy was to turn 90 on February 5, 2025...we had already talked about getting cupcakes to celebrate. Therefore, we will celebrate both Dorothy's birthday and her home-going on Wednesday, February 5, 2025 at 1:15 p.m. at Heritage Pointe of Warren, 801 Huntington Ave, Warren, IN 46792 in Applegate Chapel. There will be a burial at a later date in Oakland, California. Arrangements for Dorothy have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, IN 46989.

In lieu of flowers, it is Dorothy's wish that donations be made to the Holsinger-Schultz Endowed Scholarship at Taylor University, 1846 Main Street, Upland, IN 46989.
