Doris W. Wallace

Doris Wallace went to be with her Savior on August 7, 2019. She was born in Brilliant, Ohio, to Melvin and Sara Waugh on October 10, 1930. John, her husband of 56 years, preceded her in death in 2009. She leaves her beloved children, Debra Jo Wallace, Jan (Rob) Reber, Jonna (Tom) Jordan, and Jeffrey (Lisa) Wallace, as well as her grandchildren Brianna (Josh) LeMaster, Jordan (Lindsay) Wallace, Audra Reber, Andrea Reber, Corey Jordan, Carlie Jordan, Justin Jordan, John Bredtmann Jordan, Megan Wallace, Adrienne Wallace, Brendan Wallace, and great grandchildren, Sienna LeMaster, Jade LeMaster, Mason Howard and Jack Wallace. She retired from the Financial Aid Office at Taylor University in 1994 where she had been employed in various departments since 1978. She was a life-long member of the United Methodist Church and from 1977 to 2011 was a member of the Upland U.M.C. where she was choir director for 15+ years. In 2011 she became a member of Upland Community Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir for several years. She was an avid sports fan of Taylor University, THE Ohio State University, Indianapolis Colts and Eastbrook High School, as well as enjoying and supporting her grandchildrens participation in a myriad of school activities. Mrs. Wallace loved crafts of all types, and for many years made clothing, quilts and comforters for her entire family. She was an avid reader, and also loved jigsaw puzzles, building doll houses, model railroading, playing the piano, singing, and music in general. A celebration/memorial service will be held at Upland Community Church on Friday, August 16 at 3:00 pm with Pastor Mark Biehl officiating. There will be visitation before the service beginning at 2:30. The body will be cremated. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wallace Family Social Work Scholarship fund at Taylor University.
