Dora Luella James, 81, of Marion Indiana passed away January 19, 2018 in Russiaville, Indiana at her daughters residence, surrounded by family. Dora was born June 4, 1936 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Raymond and Bonnie (Wilson) Turner. She married James T. James on July 2, 1955, who proceeded her in death on May 26, 2015. Dora was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, and friend. Dora enjoyed being with her daughters and grandchildren, whom she loved dearly. She especially loved the holidays, because she knew this was the time when she could have her family all together. She loved knitting, quilting, and gardening when she was able. She loved her puzzle books, and enjoyed playing cards with family and friends; she also loved watching her Hallmark and Lifetime shows. Dora loved cooking for her family; her special noodles, that no one could duplicate along with her potato salad that her grandchildren said no-one could top. Dora known as Lue to family and friends was a hard-working woman who in her younger days, she owned and operated Lues place restaurant in Kokomo. Through the years she worked at different restaurants as the head cook. In her later years she worked and retired from the Broadmoor Motel in Marion. She is survived by her daughters, Bonnie (Doug) Ferguson, Kathy (Art) James, Debra (the late Wayne) Cox, Sharon (Dave) Wortman, and Lisa (Carlos) Cook; 12 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren with two to be born in 2018 and two great-great-grandchildren with one to be born in 2018. Three sisters Nancy Riley, Ann Little, and Teresa Toy; four brothers Walter Turner, Michael Turner, Ricky Turner, and John Turner. She was preceded in death by her daughter Brenda Kay James, brother Raymond Ernest Turner, and sister Lueanna Gibson. Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion,IN46953, where the family will receive friends from 4:00-8:00 on Thursday, January 25, 2018. The funeral service celebrating Doras life will be on Friday, January the 26, 2018 at 1:00p.m. with pastor Mathew Trexler officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory.
