Donna Ruth Anthony

Donna Ruth Anthony, 86; moved into her heavenly mansion on March 2, 2022. She was born on December 22, 1935, in Marion, to the late DeForest E. Welch and Orpha P (Getz) Welch Kimes. Donna graduated from Marion High School with the class of 1953 and then went on to graduate from Marion College in 1971. She then earned her Masters Degree at IU Kokomo. As a teacher she enriched the lives of her students for 25 years before retiring from Mississinewa Community Schools. Donna married the love of her life, Dwight Anthony on November 27th, 1952 where they were married for 69 years. Donna was on many of the church boards and was actively involved in Kids Hope. She loved sewing, cooking, and spending time with both her family and church family. They attended Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, in Marion. Donna is survived by her husband, Dwight Anthony; children, Lynn (Cheryl) Anthony, Marion; LeAnn Anthony, Indianapolis; Diana (Steve) Todd, Indianapolis; Taha (Mike) Boles, Upland; Peggy Cook, North Webster; Karen (Chris) Beiswenger, Indianapolis; sisters, Rosalie Drake; 15 grandchildren, and 39 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Marilyn Lewis, Meriel Zwelke; step-father, Horace Elwood Kimes; and grandsons Greg Cole, Harvey Kempson, and Gidieon Cook. Arrangements for Donna have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services. All services for Donna will be held at Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, 2015 County Road 300 West, Marion, Indiana 46952. On Sunday, March 6, 2022, the family will have family and friends for visitation from 2:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 7, 2022, at 10:00 A.M. with Pastor Rob Barton officiating. Burial will take place immediately following at Grant Memorial Park in Marion. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Donna to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
