Dianna S. Kelley

July 25, 1944 — January 7, 2020

Dianna Sue (Hale) Kelley, 75, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2020, in Marion. She was born on July 25, 1944, in Kokomo, Indiana, to the late Edward and Doris (Scott) Hale. Years later they moved to the Jalapa area. Dianna graduated from Oak Hill High School, class of 1962. She was an honor student all throughout her school years. Her class voted her to most likely succeed in business. Dianna married Mike D. Kelley on September 23, 1965. A few years later, they welcomed the Joy of their lives, their daughter Jennifer. Dianna was very well respected throughout her working days. While she was working for General Tire, they did not offer maternity leave, but the company president gave her a personal gift as well as allowing her to take 2 months off of work to care for Jennifer. While she was working for Essex Wire, the CEO asked her to join him at the company board meeting as his guest. During the meeting, the members of the board were all asked the same question. Not one of them was able to answer the question. The CEO turned to Diane and asked if she could help. She was able to answer the question. With working at both the Marion plant and then moving to the Fort Wayne plant, Dianna worked for them for a total of 22 years. In the late 1960s, she worked the evenings, answering the phone for a call-in program for suicide and drug addiction help. In 2008, she was forced to retire from the North Indiana Conference of The United Methodist Church due to diabetes complications. In 1970, Dianna started attending Mt. Olive UMC with her mother and other family members. Mike started attending a few months later. She and Mike became members in 1971. Dianna served in many areas at the church. She ran the sound equipment, taught many different classes, sang in the choir, was in charge of the fundraising programs. In June of 2017, her health problems prevented her from attending church any longer. Dianna is survived by her husband, Mike Kelley, Marion; daughter, Jennifer (Tim) Becker, Elwood; brother, Virgil (Sandy) Hale, Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Aaron Becker, Swayzee; and Jenna Becker, Elwood; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Doris Hale, and her sister Dixie (Jack) Kelley. Arrangements for Dianna have been entrusted to College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. On Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Mt.
