Dewayne N. "Peanut" Gaskin

Dewayne N. "Peanut" Gaskin, 70, died unexpectedly Friday, December 11, 2020 at his Summitville residence. Peanut was born on September 24, 1950, in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Margaret Gaskin. He graduated from Mississinewa High School in 1968 and married Linda D. Chapman on November 21, 1969. Peanut was a retired Red Gold Truck Driver. He had also worked for the family business, United Vault Company, in Gas City. Peanut was a former fire chief and proudly served for many years on the Summitville Fire Department. He currently served on the Van Buren Township Trustee Advisory Committee and enjoyed attending swap meets. Peanut is survived by his wife of 51 years, Linda; daughter, Sara (Kenny) Dumpert; brother, Wayne "Spike" (Carolyn) Gaskin, Jonesboro; special niece, Stephanie Penrod, Jonesboro; and special nephew, Ryan Davis, Noblesville. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Private family services will be held.
