Desiree Alexys Hiers

Desiree Alexys Hiers, 33, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at home surrounded by her family.

Desiree was a radiant light to all who were fortunate enough to know her. She was known by many names: Dez, Desi, Daisy; Mom, and Sis. She was born in Giessen, Germany on August 19, 1990 and was an alumni of Madison-Grant High School and Ball State University. Desiree was a long-time employee at Payne's Restaurant in Gas City. She loved the Payne's community, both patrons and fellow employees, and fostered many strong friendships through her work. Desiree had eclectic taste, loved vintage things, and had a rare eye for fashion–however, what she was best known for was her kindness, her selflessness, her ability to forgive, and her endless love for her son and daughter. Her children Finnli and Rhys were the loves of her life and her greatest pride. She was a caring and supportive friend to all–friends, family, and strangers alike.

Desiree will be endlessly missed by her children, Finnli Cole and Rhys Hiers; parents Robert and Nicole Hiers; and sisters Brittany Hiers, Kyah Hiers-Vavrek, Rory Hiers; and brother-in-law James Vavrek.

Services have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana. Per Desiree's request there will be no services at this time.
