Dennis P. Musick

Dennis P. Musick, 75, died Saturday, May 28, 2022, at his Fairmount residence. Dennis was born on May 20, 1947, in Anderson, Indiana, son of the late Mildred (Jenkins) Musick. Dennis attended Alexandria High School. He married Darla D. Rose on August 25, 1969. She preceded him in death on February 29, 2016. He was proud to be an American and a proud Navy Veteran. He served on the USS Vesuvius and USS Ajax during the Vietnam Conflict. Dennis was known for his incredible determination, humor, and honest character. He never let difficulty stand in his way. Dennis was a truck driver for Red Gold. He served on the Fairmount Reserve Police Department and the Fairmount Fire Department during the 80's. He loved scuba diving, keeping his yard in immaculate condition, and was a sharpshooter. Dennis kept an ample supply of dog bones to treat the dogs along his rides in his golf cart. He was a fixture at Jerry Payne's Circle of Friends. He was a member of Alexandria VFW and attended Fairmount Wesleyan Church. Dennis is survived by two daughters, Tia D. Musick and Tana R. Parsons, both of Fairmount; five grandchildren, Jade McDaniels, Blade McDaniels, Caden Parsons, Allerdyce Fidler, and Rylan Cole, all of Fairmount; nieces and nephews, Jim and Patricia Miller, Mike, Lee Musick, and Diana (Musick) Holtz, Alan Musick and Loura Musick, Dane, Shawna, and Jacob Gibson; in-laws, Peggy (Tom) Gibson; best friend Paul (Doris) Scott. Dennis was preceded in death by his mother, wife, and siblings, Lois (Tom) Hille, Jack (Theresa) Musick, and Gene (Joyce) Musick; nephew, Glen Musick. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount. A memorial service for Dennis will be at a later date.
