Dennis Harold Craven

Dennis H. "Denny" Craven passed away peacefully in his Indianapolis home, at the age of 80, on May 27, 2024. Denny was the son of the late Ruby and Hubert Howell and the late Harold Craven.

Denny grew up in Fairmount, Indiana. Even though he lived in Indianapolis for the past 40 years, he still considers Fairmount to be home and often talked of the joys of living in a small town.

Denny graduated from Fairmount High School, attended Ball State University and was in the National Guard.

Denny began his work career at Delco Remy. He then found employment with the WT Grant Company as a credit manager. This is where he met his wife of almost 51 years, Betty. He advanced to a regional credit manager living in Houston, Texas.

Later, Denny found his true passion of managing properties and shopping malls. This took Denny and family to many shopping malls throughout the country. Denny then moved his family back to Indianapolis, where he pursued entrepreneurial endeavors until he retired in 2009.

During his later years, he enjoyed watching old westerns, wrestling, and Pacer games on television. He also enjoyed spending time with family.

Those surviving to mourn the loss include his wife Betty; his daughter Amber Jamison; his son Garrett (Lindsey) Craven; granddaughters Allie and Kylie Craven; sisters Vivian Toulis and Bobbie Dickey; and beloved nieces.

Arrangements for Denny have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928, where a visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery.
