David L. Sickman

David L. Sickman, 77, of La Porte, passed away peacefully at 3:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 11, 2025 at his home.

He was born on October 7, 1947, in Fairmount, Indiana, to Edward and Rebecca (Sheron) Sickman.

In Magalia, California, David married his wife of 41 years, Linda Hillebrand, who survives.

He enjoyed teaching at North Judson – San Pierre and the friends he had there until his early retirement because of illness. David worked hard at having a good garden every year. He enjoyed freezing and canning everything he grew. David was greatly loved and will be truly missed.

Also surviving are his two sons, Ian and Braeden (Skye) Sickman; daughter, Christine (John) Loftus; five granddaughters, Talena; Violet, Lena, Ridley; Emma; brother, Steve (Diana) Sickman; sister, Charyl Eppley; Great granddaughter, Vaeda.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Cremation will take place. Lakeview Funeral Home and Crematory, 247 W. Johnson Rd., La Porte, (219) 362-3100, is caring for arrangements.
