David L Schmacker

David Lee Schmacker, 84, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with his loving family by his side. David was born on October 20, 1938, in Marion, Indiana. He graduated from Marion High School in 1957 and then received his Associate's Degree from Ivy Tech and became a Millwright and worked for General Motors for many years. He also served in the Navy from 1957 to 1961. On February 23, 1960, he married Elizabeth "Ann" Oglesby. David enjoyed woodworking, being in the sun, boating, skiing, and cooking. More than anything, he loved being with his family.

David is survived by his wife, Ann; daughters, Tammy (Bryan) Griffith, Gas City, and Kristy (Troy) Working, La Fontaine; grandchildren, Aubrey (Gabe) Delgado, David Ashmore, Katelynn (Zachary) Weaver, and Kristopher (Hailee) Working; and great-grandchildren, Mason and Mia Delgado, Keeleigh Ashmore, Gemma, Dawsynn, and Teaghann Weaver, and Baby Working on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Ethel Schmacker.

The family would like to thank the staff at Stillwater Hospice for their care during this time.

Arrangements for David have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 South Western Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953. In accordance with David's wishes, no services will be held and cremation will take place. Contributions made in his memory may be made to the family.
