Darlene J. Sloderbeck

Darlene J.Sloderbeck, 83, passed away on Sunday, May 14, at the Marion Rehabilitation Center in Marion, Indiana, surrounded by family. She was the daughter ofVerlisJessie and Marguerite (Leigh) Campbell. She married her husband, CharlesSloderbeck, in Marion, Indiana, on May 19, 1956, and he survives. They would have celebrated 61 years of marriage this week. Darlene worked as a teachers aide for Marion Community Schools for 10 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Marion, where she served in the past as a deaconess. She also helped organize meals for those who have lost loved ones. She enjoyed sewing. Her favorite past time was time spent loving on her grandchildren. She was a loving mother of five children; Mrs. Kim (Richard) Stephan, Brad (Angel)Sloderbeck, Mrs. Angela Kirby, Keith (Mary)Sloderbeckand David JoeSloderbeck. She also leaves behind 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, brother, Mike (Mary) Kirby, and sister,Odeama(Donald) Shepard. Arrangements for Darlene have been entrusted toArmes-HuntFuneral Home Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017, from 12:00 - 1:00 pm. A celebration of life will immediately follow at 1:00 pm with Pastors MickSimpkinsand Charlie Hall officiating.
