Claude A. 'Sonny' Starkey Iii

Claude A.SonnyStarkey III, 62, died Sunday, April 21,2019at his Fairmount residence. Sonny was born on December 5,1956in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Claude A. Starkey Jr. and Betty J. (Gotto) Starkey. He graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1975 and attended Lincoln Tech in Indianapolis while working for Fairmount Implement. He worked for Bob Cline Ford,andRCA for 27 years, the last 18 aspipefitter. After retiring from RCA he worked at Firestone inNoblesvilleas a mechanic for 3 years. Sonny was a member of Sons of the American Legion, loved playing golf and corn hole and teasing. He was also an avid IU, Chicago Bears, Pacers and St. Louis Cardinals fan. Surviving are Sonnys mother, Betty of Fairmount, daughter, Logan Mason and her mother Melisa Mason ofSummitville, sisters; Shirley (Ron) Simpson and Margo E. Davis both of Marion, and numerous nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Sonny was preceded in death by his father and sister Pamela R.Loftis. Arrangementshave been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street. Fairmount, Indiana where visitation will be held on Thursday, April 25,2019from 4-8 PM. Funeral service will be on Friday, April 26,2019at 11 AM with Pastor Clay Davis officiating. Interment will be at Park Cemetery, Fairmount. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association for the Marion-Grant County Humane Society in care of the funeral home.
