Cindy Lou Rice

Cindy Lou (Rumple) Rice, 65, passed away on Wednesday, July 3, 2024, in Muncie. Cindy was born on January 26, 1959, in Marion, to the late E. Gene and Gladys Joan (Spencer) Rumple. She graduated from Eastbrook High School in 1976. Cindy was an HR specialist at the VA Medical Center for 19 years. She was a member of Hanfield Global Methodist Church, in Marion.

Cindy was a beloved member of the community and a devoted sister, aunt, and friend. Cindy was known for her kind heart, love for animals, patriotism, and passion for cooking. She cherished moments spent with her family, and had a particular fondness for dogs, enjoying their company immensely.

Cindy's straightforward nature endeared her to many, and her love for mushroom hunting and supporting the Eastbrook Panthers Football team brought joy to those around her. Her presence will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

Cindy is survived by her siblings, Kandi (Jeff) Adamson, Upland; Tina Rumple, Upland; Dan Rumple, Van Buren; and Dave (Lou Rae) Rumple, Jonesboro; and she had many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents E. Gene and Gladys Joan (Spencer) Rumple; brother, Jon Anthony Rumple; grandparents, Ruth and Grif Morgan; and Harry and Desi Spencer; sister-in-law, Sherry Rumple; and 2 nieces and 2 nephews.

Arrangements for Cindy have been entrusted to Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989, where on Sunday, July 7, 2024, the family will have a visitation for family and friends from 2:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., then on Monday, July 8, 2024, there will be a funeral beginning at 10:00 A.M., with Pastor Curtis Banker officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Gardens of Memory, Marion.

Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Cindy to the Grant County Humane Society, 505 South Miller Avenue, Marion, Indiana 46953.
