Cindy Lou Lakin

Cindy L. Lakin, 64, went home to be with our Heavenly Father, on September 16, 2023. She was born the daughter of Melvin Richardson of Elwood and Mary (Dean) Cowart of Alexandria on March 13, 1959.

Cindy attended Alexandria-Monroe High School. She resided in Upland, Indiana for the last 32 years with her husband, George. She was well known in Madison & Grant Counties as being the local Avon Lady. She loved life, her family and friends and all animals. She enjoyed drawing and painting. She could be found most days sitting outdoors with her husband enjoying nature and her animals of all kinds. She loved keeping in touch with her family and friends and always looked forward to any opportunity to chat or visit.

Cindy is survived by her husband (George), daughter; Mary Ann (Josh) Knott of Muncie, Dena (Daniel) West of Alexandria, Holly (Mike) Reeves of Alexandria and her sons; Sam (Stacy) Lakin of Gas City and Jim (Angie) Lakin of Gas City. Grandchildren; Zachary, Abigail, Jaci, Jack,Rhea, Bo, Jay, Lauren, Allison, Geneaveve, and Leah; lots great-grandchildren, sisters, brothers, nieces and nephews.

Cindy was preceded by her father (Melvin), Mother (Mary), Father (Dean), Brother (Dean), Brother (Terry), Daughter (Amy), and son (Jo).

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral and Cremation Services, 259 North Main Street, Upland, Indiana 46989, with burial to follow at Atkinson Cemetery, Marion.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the funeral home.
