Chris R. Marley

Chris R. Marley, 64, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, at Marion Health. Chris was born on August 2, 1959, to the late Lewis Shelton and Jill Shelton, who survives. He graduated from Madison-Grant High School, class of 1977. After graduation, he went to work for Prysmian Group until his passing. He was a member of IBEW. Chris enjoyed watching the Colts, Notre Dame, and Nascar, and he was a big Dale Earnhardt fan. He was proud of his garden and grew the best tomatoes in town. He loved hanging out with friends and going to cookouts. He will be incredibly missed by his family and his lifelong friends.

Chris is survived by his mother, Jill; sister, Darcie Baxter, Fowlerton; brothers, Bud (Carla) Shelton, Fairmount, and Thad Shelton, Mercer Island, WA; cousins, Doug Marley and Gayle Helmkamp; four nieces; four nephews; and several very close and loyal childhood friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, E. Jay and Edith Marley, and Uncle Jay and Aunt Donna Marley.

Arrangements for Chris have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating. Burial will take place at Park Cemetery.
