Cheryl Wiggs

Cheryl Wiggs, 70, of Marion, died peacefully at her home on Wednesday, August 21, 2019. Cheryl was enjoyable to be with; she was patient, kind, and had a great personality. She was born April 2, 1949, at Marion, Indiana, to the late Richard E. and Mary E. Gilbert Earnest, and graduated from Marion High School, class of 1967. Cheryl married Duane Wiggs on May 21, 1982, at Logansport, Indiana, and he preceded her in death July 22, 2005. Cheryl retired from the Indiana Division of Family and Children and previously attended the former Central Christian Church of Marion. She was a member of the Swayzee Order of Eastern Star, AmVets Auxiliary of Marion, and American Legion Auxiliary Post # 10 in Marion. She was a member of the Marion High School Class Reunion Committee and the Marion High School Alumni Association. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, and baking. Cheryl is survived by her children, Christine King, Syracuse, IN, Catherine (Cody) Welches, Ft. Wayne, IN, Gretchen (Matt) Liston, North Webster, IN,and Dane King, Ft. Wayne; step-children, Lori Rosenkrats, Florida, Greg (Catherine) Wiggs, Churubusco, IN, and Jon (Mikaela) Wiggs, Michigan; brother, John (Linda) Earnest, Syracuse, IN; her companion, Jeff Ricks, Marion, IN; and 9 Grandchildren and 8 Great-grandchildren. The family will be holding a private memorial service for Cheryl; there are no other services. Per her request, she will be cremated and her cremains buried with Duane at Marion National Cemetery, Marion, Indiana. The College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana 46953, has been entrusted to care for Cheryl and her family.
