Charlene J Clock

Charlene J. (Roderick) Clock, 99, of Fairmount, Indiana, died Friday, July 20, 2018, at IUBlackfordHospital in Hartford City. Charlene was born in Eaton, Indiana on January 30, 1919, daughter of the late Leroy and Addie Alta (Haynes) Roderick and was raised by Anderson and GertrudeOsenbaugh. She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in 1938 and marriedArvelClock on July 13, 1938. He preceded her in death in 1987. Charlene was a life long resident of Grant County. She loved the Lord and was a faithful member of theFowlertonUnited Methodist Church where she played the piano. For 70 years she hosted the Thursday Bible Study in her home. She loved to stay busy by teaching childrens piano lessons, making Sunshine Books for shut-ins, being a member and treasurer of the Fairmount Red Hatters, and playing the piano and organ for churches. She was well known for her excellent pie baking. She loved gospel music and started the Grant County Kitchen Band that she was a part of for 25 years. Charlene is survived by two sons; Larry (Jane) Clock, Florida, and Earl (Jill) Clock of Fairmount, six grandchildren; Martin (Cissy) Clock, Hartford City,CathiCarr, Arcadia, Terri (Tim)Deavers, Hartford City, Amy (Todd) Marshall,Bentonville, Arkansas, Andrea Fitzgerald, Pennsylvania,and Jennifer (Jared)Jarck, Fairmount. 13 great-grandchildren; Brody and Bryce Fitzgerald,Holynand Hayden Marshall, Christopher, Randy, and Kyle Banter, JessicaKuramata, Jeffrey Carr, CarlyOlinger, Madison Clock, and Hayley and AndrewJarck; and several great-great-grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Charlene was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Roderick. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel ofArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services where visitation will be on Monday, July 23, 2018, from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. A funeral service honoring Charlene will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Matthews Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to theFowlertonLions Club or theFowlertonMethodist Church in care of the funeral home.
