Chad A. Orr

January 15, 1978 — November 9, 2022

Chad Allan Orr, 44, of Upland, Indiana, passed away from a brief illness on Wednesday, November 9, 2022, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, in Muncie, IN. He was born on January 15, 1978, in Marion, IN. Chad married Amy L. Kinder on May 16, 2014, in Pigeon Forge, TN, she survives.


Chad spent most of his childhood growing up in Norman, OK. He attended Norman High School, and moved to Hartford City and graduated in 1996 from Blackford High School, in Hartford City. Chad earned a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Ball State University, in Muncie. He was the commercial manager at Best One Mobile Fleet Center of Gas City.


Chad loved baseball, playing throughout his childhood and went on to pitch for the Ball State Cardinals. He was a Chicago Cubs fanatic. Chad had a passion for racing micro-sprint cars. He raced at the Miami County Speedway in Peru and created the CMRracing LLC racing team. Chad never knew a stranger, had a great sense of humor and huge heart. He was a great dad, husband, brother, and friend. He will be missed by many.


Chad is survived by his wife, Amy Orr, of Upland; children, A.J. Orr, of Upland, Addie Orr, of Upland, Hunter Orr, of Wilkinson, Dane Orr, of Wilkinson; parents, Mark and Paula (Jackson) Orr, of Hartford City; brother, Marc (Rebecca) Orr, of Muncie; father-and-mother-in-law, Russell and Deah Kinder, of LaFontaine; sisters-in-law, Michelle (Brad) Lemke, of Huntington, and Laura (Ben) Cooper, of Columbia City; brother-in-law, James (Maggie) Kinder, of Fort Wayne; grandmother, Janice Jackson, of Hartford City; grandfather-in-law, Russell Kinder, of Hartford City; several nieces and nephews and extended family; and special friends, Grant Glock, David Cane, Joni Long, and Kevin Nussbaum.



He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Walter Jackson; step-grandmother, Dianna Orr; grandfather, John Orr.


Arrangements for Chad have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, IN 46989, where a private funeral service was held in his honor.


Memorial contributions may be made to Eastbrook Youth Baseball, at 582 W. Berry Ave. Upland, IN 46989.
