Carol J. Walz

Carol J. Walz 86 of Upland, Indiana died Friday October 14, 2022 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, Indiana.

Carol had a glowing personality and was always smiling and encouraging others, she enjoyed helping others and being involved with whatever was going on. A great cook and baker she had worked at the former Chanticleer and Emporium, both were in Upland. She was a cookbook freak, avid reader enjoyed traveling especially special to friends in Canada. She enjoyed rummaging and was a member of the Upland Tri-Dice Club. Carol also loved going to casinos as well.

Carol was born October 8, 1936 to the late Vern B. and Clara May (Havens) Marsh at Marion, Indiana. She married Frederick Walz Oct 22, 1954 at Upland, Indiana, he preceded her in death October 7, 2004 just a few days before their 50th anniversary.

Carol is survived by her daughter; Queen Joan Stanley of Upland, grandchildren; Thomas Bradley-Downam, Jonesboro, Brandon Lee (Annie) Downam, Converse, Michael Downam, Upland, Brandon Craig Thomas Stanley, Elkhart Kristen Walz, Fishers, Katy (Josh) Walz Conner,Muncie, IN, Klara (Brady) Howard Hays, Indianapolis. Great-grandchildren; Emily, Liberty, and Jillian Downam, Sydney Abbott, Liam and Lochlan Stanley.and Landon Conner

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter; Donna Howard, son; Frederick R "Fritz" Walz, sister; Sandra Berryhill.

Arrangements for Carol have been entrusted to the Jones-Smith Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 259 N. Main St., Upland, IN The family will receive friends from 11-2 on Tuesday October 18, 2022 at the funeral home followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM at the funeral home, burial to follow at Jefferson Cemetery with Pastor Alexander P. Soultz officiating.
