Buddy Paul Byrd

Buddy Paul Byrd, 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 10, 2021, in Marion, Indiana. Buddy was born on March 28, 1934, in Alpine, Tennessee, to the late Fred and Ova Elizabeth Byrd. On September 5, 1959, he married Rose Frances German. They celebrated 54 years of marriage, before she passed away on May 25, 2014. Together, they had four children who survive. Buddy served four years in the Army. He then worked as a forklift driver for Fisher Body in Marion for many years. Buddy loved to fish, especially when he was able to fish with his wife or sons. Buddy is survived by his four children, Paul (Shelli) Byrd, Marion, Elizabeth (Chris) Cox, Marion, John (Danette) Byrd, Swayzee, and Andy (Patty) Byrd, Summitville; ten grandchildren, Buddy and Brant Byrd, Kylie Farrell, Peyton Byrd, Meagan Holmes, Tiffany Jones, Kyle and Corbin Byrd, Britney Hickerson, and Cortney Byrd; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Ruth Byrd, Cookeville, TN; and brother, Danny Byrd, Byrdstown, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Ova, and wife, Rose. Arrangements have been entrusted to the College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services. In accordance with Buddy's wishes, no services will be held. Contributions made in Buddy's memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
