Brian L. "Shortround" Marcum

Brian L. "Shortround" Marcum, 53, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, at Marion Health. He was born on March 21, 1971, to Linda (Marcum) Gerstorff, in Marion. Brian graduated from Madison-Grant High School in 1989. He was a proud member of the Iron Workers Union Local 147.

Brian's love for the great outdoors and music shaped his life in profound ways. Whether he was fishing, hunting, boating, or attending concerts, Brian found solace and happiness in the beauty of nature and the power of music.

A true provider and the life of the party, Brian was always there for those in need, offering support and kindness with a smile on his face. His easy-going nature, passion for life, and hard-working spirit inspired all who crossed his path. Brian's ability to bring joy and laughter to any situation made him a cherished friend and beloved family member.

His love for spending time with his family and friends was evident in every moment he shared with them. He wanted them to enjoy life and he did everything he could to make that happen.

Brian is survived by his mother, Linda Gerstorff, Marion; the mother of his children, Micki Marcum, Marion; his children, Blake (Ashley Sterling) Smith, Summitville; Mackenzie (Matthew Lillard) Marcum, Marion; and Terra (Benito) Randolph, Marion; his grandchildren, Carmen, River, Jayce, Ember, Paisleigh, Ava, and one on the way Elijah; his step-brothers, Tim, James, and Jeremy Gerstorff; and nieces and nephews.

Arrangements for Brian have been entrusted to the Fairmount chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana 46928, where on Sunday, July 21, 2024, there will be a visitation from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, then on Monday, July 22, 2024, at 10:00 AM there will be a funeral service with Pastor Brock Meyer officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.

Memorial contributions may be made to the funeral home to help defray his funeral expenses.
