Bobby Jack Lewis

Bobby Jack Lewis, 90, of Fairmount, Indiana died Sunday, August 25, 2024 at Marion Health.

Bobby was born in Pardee, West Virginia on July 28, 1934, son of the late Jake and Effie (Houston) Lewis. Bobby had attended Mississinewa High School and proudly served his country in the Marine Corp during the Korean War. He married Glendora Fern Eccles on September 7, 1956. Glendora preceded him in death on February 27, 2012. Bobby and Glendora shared a wonderful life including five children, ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Bobby worked at Owens-Illinois in Gas City for 34 years and also at the Tipton Nursing Center, helped maintain Jefferson Cemetery in Upland and owned his own house painting business that he did on the side. He loved people, being outdoors, and gardening, but his family was the joy of his life.

Bobby is survived by his children, Robin Simons, Mississippi, David (Lisa) Lewis, Seymour, Debra (Tony) Mullins, Elwood, Bobbie Jo Wheadon, Bassville, MS, and Todd Lewis, Fairmount; grandchildren, Brandi (Sam) Hutchinson, Courtney Lewis, Bobby Lewis, Carianne (Kevin) Ward, Cody (Mary) Mullins, Shana (Dietrick) Gale, Jeremy Wheadon, Tiffany Lewis and Erica Lewis; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Tavon, Jayden, Kassandra, Hayliana and Bryson; sister, Thelma Markland, Gas City.

Bobby was preceded in death by his wife Glendora, siblings, Doyle Lewis, Lester "Gene" Lewis, Jim Dickey, and Nancy Leach, and granddaughter, Casey Mullins.

Services for Bobby have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana where services will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2024. Visitation will be from 4-6 PM with the funeral service beginning at 6 PM with Military Rites.  Cremation will follow.
