Bobby First

Robert J. "Bobby" First Jr., a beloved member of the Fairmount community, passed away on July 13, 2024, at the age of 64. Born in Marion, IN, on September 23, 1959, the late Robert J. First Sr. and Ruth Ann (Miller) Line. Bobby was known for his friendly nature and willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

Bobby worked as a laborer for Local 1112 Laborers Muncie, dedicating his time and energy to his work for 25 years. In his free time, he enjoyed bowling, fishing, playing billiards, and watching Andy Griffith. These hobbies brought him great joy and relaxation throughout his life.

Bobby will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his memory live on in the hearts of his family and friends as they reflect on the moments shared with a man who was always willing to go above and beyond for others.

He is survived by his loving wife, Correna First, Fairmount; and his children Mark (Leanne) Whitehead, Fairmount; and Rocky (Tiffany) Whitehead, Gaston; his sister, Angela (Michael) McCullum, Matthews; his brother, Antony Lhamon, Gas City; his grandchildren, Blake, Mackenzie, Kaydence, Jacob, Brielle, Katie, Kentlee, and Kiler; and his dog, Petey. Bobby's family meant everything to him, and he cherished the time spent with them.

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, and his daughter Marissa Whitehead.

Arrangements for Bobby were entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Life Celebration Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 South Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana, 46928. On Saturday, July 27, 2024, at MorningStar Ministries, 6577 Wheeling Pike, Jonesboro, Indiana 46938, the family will have a visitation from 1:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., with a memorial service beginning at 5:00 P.M. with pastor Johnnie Armes officiating.
