Bob Gillespie, 75, of Gas City, died Sunday, November 20, 2022 at Lutheran Hospital.
Bob was born on September 21, 1947 in Marion, Indiana, son of the late Robert T. and F. Louise (Craw) Gillespie. He graduated from Marion High School in 1966. Bob was an over the road owner operator of Gillespie trucking for many years and recently worked at McClure gas station. Also worked for Wilmer lime.
Bob was always friendly, he never met a stranger. He was a member of the "FBI" (Fat Boy of Indiana Club), former member of Fairmount Fire Department, and Son's of American Legion Post 313. Bob enjoyed motorcycles and race cars. He was apart of "Fat Bob Racing" as well.
Bob is survived by two children, CR (Stacy) Gillespie, Fairmount and Shannon (Skip) Lewis, Summitville; long term companion, Debra Gregory; brothers Gary (Rita) Gillespie of Bunker Hill; brother-in-law, Kenneth Knepsheld; grandchildren, Tori Galloway of Bloomington, Alexis Cretsinger of Indianapolis, Ellyssa Lewis of Summitville, Alex Cretsinger of Summitville, Zander Gillespie, Logan Gillespie, and Avery Gillespie all of Fairmount; step daughters, Holly (Ed) Wilson of Fort Wayne and Cherry Gregory of Gas City; step grandchild Austin Phillips of Gas City; great grandchildren Finn Phillips and Maci Kay Phillips of Gas City; nieces and nephews, Melissa (Chip) Cly, Jean Knepshield, Leigh Ann (Don) Gill, Heath (Emily) Gillespie, Shane (Heather) Gillespie.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Chicann Knepsheld.
Services for Bob will be at Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana on Monday, November 28, 2022 with a visitation from 5:00PM to 7:00PM with a service immediate to follow at 7:00PM, with Johnny Armes officiating.
