Betty J. Thornburgh

Betty J.Thornburgh, 55, went to be with Jesus on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Betty was born on July 17, 1962, in Franklin, Indiana to the late LusterSlevinand Mary (Forney)Slevin, who survives. She graduated from Indian Creek High School in Franklin, Indiana in 1981. She married MarkThornburghand they enjoyed 28 wonderful years of marriage. Betty worked for many years as a CNA and then worked for Reeds Do It Best in Bluffton for the last 11 years. She was a member of the Full Gospel Church in Dunkirk, Indiana. She loved horses and collected horse figurines. She loved the color blue as much as she hated the color green. Betty is survived by her husband Mark; mother, Mary; 8 siblings, MikeSlevin, Brown County, IN, TomSlevin, Franklin, IN, AnnSlevin, Hartford City, IN, Judy (Larry) Summer,Bargersville, IN, KarenSlevin, Franklin, IN, Bobby (Colleen)Slevin, Brown County, IN, JohnSlevin, Franklin, IN, and PaulSlevin, Franklin, IN; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Luster. Arrangements for Betty have been entrusted toArmes-HuntFuneral Home and Cremation Services College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Friday, August 25, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m. with DougThornburghofficiating. Burial will take place at Weeping Willow Cemetery in Bean Blossom, Indiana on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. Contributions made in memory of Betty can be made to the funeral home to help the family with expenses.
